This painting was actually inspired by a pastel painting started in 1988 but never completed. The actual completed parts of the painting were cut out and incorporated into this collage. The addition of fabric, metal pieces, jewelry, paint, and such, with a finish of resin, completed this piece, making it a beautiful and unique, repurposed art piece.
A variety of materials, mediums, and techniques were used to create these beautiful portraits and female figures that are vibrant, colorful. Techniques including layering paper, modeling paste, fabric and glue. Accented with glitter, and pouring medium, and features at least one or more pieces of jewelry and or fabric belonging to my deceased mother, as a tribute to her.
A Touch Of Old Asia | Expressionist Potpourri
The Glitter Gals collection is an experimental series. To make these beautiful portraits and female figures that are vibrant, colorful, and unique, a variety of materials, mediums, and techniques were used, including: paper collage, acrylic gel mediums, glues, glitter, metals, pouring mediums, fabric, costume jewelry, glue gun art techniques, and paint pouring techniques.
This series was created as a tribute to my mother who passed away in September of 2017. This artwork has been featured at the Vertigo Art Gallery in Phoenix, Arizona.
